Telangana Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar has expressed his willingness to engage in discussions with the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) workers. Speaking in light of the ongoing concerns regarding workers’ demands, the Minister acknowledged the state’s financial challenges but urged the workers to cooperate given the economic situation.
In his statement, Minister Prabhakar emphasized that the state government is fully aware of the RTC workers’ issues but highlighted that the corporation is gradually heading towards profitability after a prolonged period of financial difficulties. The Minister reassured workers that despite the financial strain, the government is committed to improving the RTC’s condition, with efforts to stabilize and enhance its financial status.
The Minister further stressed that dialogue between the workers and the government is vital for the continued growth of the RTC and the welfare of its workers. “We are making every effort to address the financial difficulties. The workers’ cooperation is crucial for the betterment of the RTC,” said Minister Prabhakar.
Minister Ponnam Prabhakar also confirmed that the government is ready to meet with the workers on May 5 and 6, when the workers are ready. The meeting aims to resolve the ongoing issues and avoid any disruptions to RTC services.
The Telangana RTC workers had expressed concerns about their working conditions and wages, with some unions even hinting at a strike. The upcoming discussions are expected to play a key role in resolving the situation and ensuring the smooth operation of public transport in the state.
As the situation develops, both the government and the workers’ unions will need to reach an agreement to ensure that the public continues to benefit from reliable and efficient transportation services.
