Trump Proposes Peace Feast for India and Pakistan, Claims Role in Ceasefire and Talks to End Russia-Ukraine War

Former U.S. President Donald Trump has once again stepped into international diplomacy, offering to host a peace banquet for India and Pakistan to help defuse escalating tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbors.

Speaking at a campaign event, Trump said, “To reduce tensions between India and Pakistan, they should attend a feast I will host.” He further claimed credit for past efforts to bring both nations to a ceasefire agreement. “We facilitated a ceasefire between India and Pakistan. We want peace.”

Trump highlighted the potential for economic cooperation between the two countries, stating, “India and Pakistan are both powerful nations. I advised them to stop fighting and focus on doing business instead.” His remarks come amid a backdrop of heightened border skirmishes and diplomatic strain following recent events in the region, including Operation Sindoor by Indian forces.

The former U.S. President also touched upon his role in global conflict resolution, asserting that he is involved in ongoing talks aimed at ending the war between Russia and Ukraine. “We’re holding discussions to stop the war between Russia and Ukraine too,” he said.

Trump’s comments have drawn mixed reactions. While some view his offer as a positive step toward mediation, others question the feasibility and seriousness of such a proposal given the complex geopolitical and historical issues between India and Pakistan.

This is not the first time Trump has positioned himself as a potential peacemaker in South Asia. During his presidency, he had offered to mediate between India and Pakistan on the Kashmir issue, a move that was met with caution and skepticism by New Delhi.

Whether his latest diplomatic pitch will gain traction remains uncertain, but it underscores Trump’s continued interest in playing a global role—even outside the Oval Office.
