However, GT struck back at a crucial moment by breaking what looked like a dangerous opening partnership. Aiden Markram, who was looking in fine touch, was dismissed for 36. His wicket provided some relief to the Titans, who were under pressure as LSG built early momentum.
At the end of 11 overs, Lucknow were 107/1, still well-placed to put up a challenging total. With plenty of batting firepower to follow and a good platform laid, LSG will aim to accelerate in the remaining overs.
Gujarat Titans, fighting to stay in contention for a top-two finish, will now look to build on that breakthrough and tighten the screws on LSG’s middle order.
