India has reported a rise in COVID-19 cases, with active infections reaching 2,710 as of today. The latest data from the Union Health Ministry shows that Kerala is the most affected, with 1,147 active cases. Maharashtra and Delhi follow, with 424 and 294 cases respectively.
Seven COVID-related deaths have been recorded in the last 24 hours across multiple states. Officials stated that most of the deceased had existing health issues, including heart disease and diabetes, which increased their risk of severe illness.
The Health Ministry has urged the public to remain cautious but calm. While no new restrictions have been imposed, authorities have advised citizens—especially those with comorbidities—to wear masks in crowded places, maintain hygiene, and avoid unnecessary gatherings.
Vaccination efforts continue nationwide, and booster doses are available. The government has also encouraged states to increase testing, particularly in urban centers and transportation hubs.
Although the numbers are still low compared to previous waves, health experts warn that the virus remains active and unpredictable. The situation is being closely monitored by officials at both state and national levels.
