On June 17, 2025, an IndiGo flight from Kochi to Delhi, operating as Flight 6E‑2706, was forced to make an emergency landing in Nagpur following a bomb threat received via email.
The aircraft, which was en route with 157 passengers and crew on board, was diverted mid-flight after authorities were alerted to a potential security threat. Upon arrival in Nagpur, all passengers were safely deboarded, and a comprehensive security sweep was conducted by bomb disposal squads and local police.
Fortunately, no suspicious objects or explosives were found during the search, and no injuries were reported. The threat turned out to be a hoax, but authorities are not taking the matter lightly.
An investigation is underway to trace the origin of the threat email. Airport security measures have also been heightened as a precaution, and IndiGo is cooperating fully with the authorities.
The airline later confirmed that all passengers were safe and arrangements were being made for them to continue their journey.
