A complaint has been lodged against actor Vijay Deverakonda for allegedly making disrespectful comments about the tribal community during the pre-release event of his upcoming film Retro. The complaint requests the filing of an SC/ST atrocities case against the actor.

On April 26, while speaking at the event, Deverakonda reportedly made a comparison, saying, “The Pakistanis do these foolish things, just like the tribals did 500 years ago.” The statement has caused widespread outrage, with many accusing the actor of disrespecting the tribal community.

The Tribal Lawyers Association has formally filed a complaint, arguing that the actor’s words were not only offensive but also an insult to the dignity of the tribal people. They have called for the authorities to take legal action under the SC/ST atrocities Act.

The incident has sparked a significant debate online and among various groups, with some calling for a public apology from the actor, while others express concern over the impact of such remarks on the reputation of the tribal community.

Deverakonda has not yet commented on the matter, and the police are currently reviewing the complaint.
