Hyderabad to Get a New Zoo Focused on Exotic Animals

Zoo

Hyderabad is set to welcome a brand-new zoo dedicated mainly to exotic animal species. The upcoming zoological park will be developed over 200 acres near the proposed Future City, adding to the city’s existing Nehru Zoological Park in Bahadurpura.

The State government has allocated the land in Mucherla for this ambitious project, which aims to showcase rare and exotic wildlife not typically found in Indian zoos. The new zoo is expected to become a major attraction, boosting both tourism and environmental awareness.

The Telangana Forest Development Corporation (TFDC) will lead the project’s development. It will be executed under a public-private partnership (PPP) model, with private players contributing to the design, infrastructure, and day-to-day operations of the zoo.

Officials say the focus will be on creating a modern, eco-friendly space that offers both entertainment and education, while also promoting wildlife conservation.

This initiative is part of the state’s broader vision to expand green spaces and offer new recreational options for residents and tourists alike.
