BJP MP and Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut stirred controversy on social media after posting a tweet criticizing former U.S. President Donald Trump. The tweet, which quickly gained traction, was deleted soon after BJP National President JP Nadda reportedly contacted her over the issue.
In the now-deleted tweet, Kangana had described Trump’s recent political statements as “regressive and dangerous for global diplomacy.” The comment drew a mix of praise and criticism, with many pointing out the potential diplomatic sensitivity of such a statement coming from a sitting Member of Parliament.

According to party insiders, BJP leadership was concerned about the impact the tweet might have on India’s international relations, particularly with the United States. JP Nadda is said to have called Kangana personally to express these concerns and advise restraint in public communication.
Following the call, Kangana removed the tweet and issued a brief clarification. “My intention was not to target any nation or its leaders. I respect international diplomacy and remain committed to the values of the BJP and my responsibilities as an elected representative,” she stated.
The incident has triggered a wave of discussion in political and media circles. While some critics see it as an example of Kangana’s impulsiveness, others believe her decision to delete the tweet shows a willingness to adhere to party discipline.
This marks one of the first major political controversies Kangana has faced since entering Parliament, underscoring the heightened scrutiny that comes with her new role.
