Tollywood actor Akkineni Nagarjuna has filed a defamation suit against Telangana Minister Konda Surekha in the Nampally Court. The legal move follows controversial comments made by the minister, which Nagarjuna alleges have caused harm to his reputation.
The controversy began when Konda Surekha made remarks involving Nagarjuna and actress Samantha. Although the minister later apologized and retracted her statements, Nagarjuna felt that the damage to his public image was significant enough to seek legal action. Sources close to the actor revealed that he was deeply upset by the comments and believed them to be both unfounded and harmful.

Konda Surekha had previously issued an unconditional apology, clarifying that she had no intention of disrespecting either Samantha or Nagarjuna. The Telangana Women’s Commission also accepted the apology and stated that no further intervention was required, as Surekha had explained her position.
However, despite the apology, Nagarjuna has decided to move forward with the defamation case. The specifics of the lawsuit are yet to be disclosed, but experts suggest that the case may focus on compensating for the damage to Nagarjuna’s reputation and the emotional distress caused by the statements.
The case has attracted widespread attention, with both political and film industry figures closely watching the developments. Fans of Nagarjuna have expressed their support for the actor, while some have called for a resolution, given that the minister had already apologized.
As the case progresses, it remains to be seen how the legal proceedings will play out, with both parties expected to present their arguments in court.
