Cricket Australia has unveiled a strong 15-member squad for the upcoming ICC World Test Championship (WTC) Final against South Africa, set to take place at Lord’s Cricket Ground from June 11 to 15. The squad retains a familiar core from Australia’s victorious 2023 campaign, while also introducing key reinforcements.
Pat Cummins will once again lead the side, with Steve Smith named vice-captain. Veteran opener David Warner, who is expected to retire later this year, is included and may play his final Test on the world stage. The top order also features Usman Khawaja, Marnus Labuschagne, and Travis Head, who have been central to Australia’s Test dominance.
All-rounder Cameron Green returns to the Test setup after a nine-month absence, offering crucial balance with both bat and ball. The selectors have also opted for two specialist spinners — Nathan Lyon and Todd Murphy — to provide variety in English conditions.
The fast-bowling unit is headlined by Mitchell Starc, Scott Boland, and Michael Neser, giving the team depth and experience across seam-friendly pitches. Behind the stumps, Alex Carey retains his place as the primary wicketkeeper, with Josh Inglis included as backup.
