Joe Biden Diagnosed with Aggressive Prostate Cancer, Condition Metastasized to Bones

Former U.S. President Joe Biden has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of prostate cancer, with the disease already having metastasized to his bones. The diagnosis, confirmed by his medical team, follows recent evaluations after Biden reported urinary symptoms. Doctors have classified the cancer with a Gleason score of 9 (Grade Group 5), indicating a high-grade and rapidly advancing condition.

Despite the seriousness of the diagnosis, Biden’s cancer is reportedly hormone-sensitive, meaning it can still respond well to hormone-based treatment protocols. The former president, now 82, is said to be in stable condition and is currently at his Wilmington, Delaware home while further treatment plans are being evaluated.

The announcement has drawn widespread support from political leaders across the spectrum. Vice President Kamala Harris described Biden as “a fighter” and expressed confidence in his ability to overcome the health challenge. Former President Donald Trump also issued a public statement offering well-wishes, saying he and former First Lady Melania Trump were saddened by the news and wished Biden a full and speedy recovery.

The news has brought renewed attention to the importance of cancer screening and treatment research—an issue Biden himself strongly advocated for during and after his presidency. It also comes less than a year after he announced his decision not to seek re-election in 2024, instead endorsing Kamala Harris as the Democratic nominee.

Biden’s office stated that updates on his condition and treatment will be shared with the public in due course. For now, he is said to be spending time with his family and focusing on his health.
