Netflix Confirms Season 3 Premiere for June 27, 2025

Netflix has unveiled the highly anticipated trailer for Squid Game Season 3, and fans are already buzzing about what appears to be a dramatic showdown between protagonist Seong Gi-hun (Player 456) and the mysterious Front Man.

The trailer, released during Netflix’s global Tudum fan event, teases the dark and psychological twists that made the original series a global phenomenon. In a powerful exchange, Gi-hun confronts the Front Man, asking, “Why didn’t you kill me? Why did you keep me alive?” The Front Man’s cold response — “Player 456, do you still have faith in people?” — sets the tone for an emotionally charged confrontation in the upcoming season.

Gi-hun, portrayed by Lee Jung-jae, is seen abandoning his plans to flee the country in order to bring down the sinister organization behind the deadly games. Season 2 ended with a cliffhanger as Gi-hun turned back at the airport, hinting at a personal mission of vengeance and justice.

In Season 3, the stakes are higher than ever. The trailer suggests a deeper exploration into the origins and operations of the game, as well as a power struggle within its leadership. The enigmatic Front Man, played by Lee Byung-hun, returns with a larger role, as his own backstory and motivations come under scrutiny.

Fans will also be introduced to new players and dangerous new games, as the series promises to expand its universe while staying true to the survival drama that captivated audiences worldwide.

Netflix confirmed that Squid Game Season 3 will premiere globally on June 27, 2025.

Created by Hwang Dong-hyuk, Squid Game made history as the most-watched series in Netflix history upon its release in 2021 and won numerous awards, including an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series.

The third season is expected to be the most intense yet, with questions of morality, power, and survival once again at the forefront.
