Ajaz Khan’s Show ‘House Arrest’ Faces Ban Amid Public Outrage; Ullu Removes Episodes

Ajaz Khan’s

Ajaz Khan’s controversial reality show House Arrest, streamed on the Ullu app, has been taken down following massive public outrage over explicit content. The decision came after a video clip from the show went viral, showing Khan asking contestants to enact and describe sexual positions, sparking widespread criticism on social media and calls for stricter OTT regulation.

In the now-removed episode, Ajaz Khan is seen questioning a female contestant about her knowledge of Kama Sutra positions and later encourages another to demonstrate them. The footage was slammed as vulgar and inappropriate, prompting viewers and political figures alike to demand action.

The outrage escalated further when Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi questioned why platforms like Ullu and ALT Balaji were not included in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting’s recent crackdown on 18 OTT platforms accused of streaming obscene content.

Amid the backlash, the Ullu platform removed the controversial episodes from its app. However, the show’s female contestant and actress Gehana Vasisth came out in defense of Ajaz Khan, calling critics “dhongis” (hypocrites). She claimed that the controversy was being used to distract the public from more serious national issues.

“This show is a reality format, not a crime. People should focus on real problems instead of creating drama over entertainment,” she said in a statement to the press.

The incident has reignited debates about OTT content regulation and the fine line between creative freedom and public decency. As discussions continue, the future of shows like House Arrest remains uncertain.
