In a move aimed at strengthening ties between the two nations, Australia will begin offering work visas to Indian citizens starting October 1. This opportunity comes under the recently signed Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement (ECTA), which promotes greater collaboration between Australia and India in various sectors.
Under this new visa scheme, Indian nationals aged 18-30 years will be eligible to apply for a one-year visa that allows them to work, study, and travel across Australia. The visa is designed to provide young Indians with the chance to gain international experience while also contributing to Australia’s workforce and economy.
The initiative is expected to boost bilateral relations between the two countries by facilitating more people-to-people exchanges. It also aligns with Australia’s efforts to attract skilled workers and students from India, one of its key partners in trade and education.
Australia’s Minister for Trade and Tourism praised the agreement, emphasizing that the visa program will benefit both nations. “This is a fantastic opportunity for young Indian citizens to explore Australia, while also providing our industries with fresh talent,” he said.
For Indian citizens interested in applying, the visa will be available from October 1, with the application process expected to be straightforward. The program is part of a broader effort to strengthen ties between India and Australia through trade, education, and cultural exchanges.
With this new visa option, both countries hope to foster closer connections and open up new pathways for cooperation in the years to come.
