In a deeply disturbing incident, a biomedical final-year student from Chennai was allegedly raped by two youths in Hyderabad after being lured under false pretenses. The victim, who had come to the city believing she would be offered an internship, was instead subjected to sexual assault.
According to police reports, the accused — identified as Ajay and Hari — played key roles in the crime. Ajay, a friend of the victim, invited her to Hyderabad with the promise of helping her secure an internship. She was staying at a ladies’ hostel in Kukatpally.
Later, Ajay invited her to a party at his friend Hari’s apartment located in Rajiv Gruhakalpa, Nizampet. Once she arrived at the flat, she was allegedly forced to consume alcohol. As she lost consciousness, the two men took advantage of her condition and raped her.
The survivor filed a complaint at the Bachupally police station. A case has been registered, and police have begun a detailed investigation. Both suspects are currently being questioned, and legal proceedings are underway.
Authorities have assured that strict action will be taken and urged women to report such incidents without fear.
