On Wednesday, an unfortunate incident unfolded at Hyderabad’s Nampally railway station when the Chennai-Hyderabad Charminar Express derailed, causing injuries to at least five passengers. The prompt response of railway personnel ensured swift evacuation of the injured for immediate medical attention.
The mishap occurred as the train overshot its designated path while approaching platform number five, colliding with the side wall and resulting in the derailment of three bogies.
Fortunately, eyewitnesses highlighted the train’s slow speed, a critical factor in preventing a potentially catastrophic event. Disaster Response Force (DRF) teams were quickly dispatched to the scene in response to the incident.
The Charminar Express, concluding its journey at Nampally, faced this unexpected derailment. Telangana’s Transport Minister, Ponnam Prabhakar, directed officials to prioritize the medical care of the injured passengers, emphasizing the need for a rapid and efficient response.
