In light of escalating security concerns due to rising tensions between India and Pakistan, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has announced the postponement of the Chartered Accountancy (CA) exams scheduled from May 9 to May 14, 2025. The exams for CA Final, CA Intermediate, and Post Qualification Courses, including the International Taxation – Assessment Test (INTT AT), have been rescheduled due to the national security situation.

The ICAI made this announcement via its official social media channels, including X (formerly Twitter), stating that the decision was made with the safety and well-being of the students in mind. The board emphasized that the exams would be conducted at a later date, with further details and revised dates to be communicated shortly.

In the official statement, ICAI expressed, “Given the current national security situation, we have decided to postpone the exams scheduled from May 9 to May 14. The health and safety of our students is our utmost priority.”

The decision has sparked mixed reactions from students and educational bodies, with some welcoming the move as necessary given the current circumstances, while others have expressed concerns over potential disruptions to their study schedules.

While exams for the above-mentioned courses have been postponed, the ICAI clarified that the CA Foundation exams, scheduled to begin on May 15, 2025, will proceed as planned. This has brought some relief to candidates preparing for the Foundation exams, as these are unaffected by the delay.

The ICAI also advised all students to stay updated with the latest notifications and announcements through the official ICAI website (www.icai.org) and its social media channels. Students who were scheduled for exams during the postponed dates are urged to stay patient as the board works on rescheduling the exams.

This move follows similar decisions made by various educational and professional bodies in the country to prioritize safety during times of heightened tension. The ICAI’s proactive steps are aimed at minimizing disruption while ensuring the safety of all candidates.

As of now, the new exam dates will be released soon, and students are advised to keep checking for updates.
