In a major change just weeks before the grand finale, the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 final has been officially relocated to Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium and will now take place on June 3. The match was originally scheduled to be held in Kolkata, but has been shifted due to what officials describe as logistical and operational challenges.

Sources within the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) confirmed the change, noting that Ahmedabad’s state-of-the-art infrastructure and successful history of hosting major events played a key role in the decision.

The Narendra Modi Stadium, which boasts the title of world’s largest cricket stadium by capacity, has previously hosted several marquee matches including the IPL 2022 final and the ICC ODI World Cup final in 2023. Its capacity to accommodate over 100,000 spectators is expected to create an electric atmosphere for this season’s climax.

While the move may come as a disappointment to fans in Kolkata, the BCCI has assured smooth arrangements for fans in Ahmedabad and will soon release details regarding ticket sales, transportation, and security protocols.

As anticipation builds for the showdown, cricket enthusiasts across the country are now eyeing June 3 as the date when a new IPL champion will be crowned under the lights of one of the game’s most iconic venues.
