History has been made and the celebrations have just begun. After clinching their first-ever Indian Premier League (IPL) title, the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have departed from Ahmedabad and are en route to Bengaluru for a grand victory parade set to take place this evening.
Following their six-run triumph over Punjab Kings at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, the team, led by skipper Faf du Plessis and powered by standout performances from Virat Kohli and Rajat Patidar, will now bask in the glory of their long-awaited championship win with their home fans.
The RCB squad is expected to arrive at HAL Airport in Bengaluru by 1:30 PM IST. From there, they will proceed to Vidhana Soudha for a scheduled meeting with Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah between 4:00 PM and 5:00 PM. The players will then board an open-top bus for a celebratory parade that will travel from Vidhana Soudha to the iconic M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.
Thousands of fans, clad in red and black, are expected to line the streets of Bengaluru, chanting the now-iconic slogan “Ee Sala Cup Namdu” (This time the cup is ours). The city has been painted in RCB colours, with massive cutouts, banners, and celebratory murals appearing overnight in anticipation of the team’s homecoming.
Speaking after the final, Virat Kohli—who has been with the franchise since its inception—expressed his emotions: “I’ll sleep like a baby tonight. This moment was 17 years in the making, and it feels surreal.”
Security has been tightened across the parade route, and traffic diversions have been announced to manage the expected large turnout.
This victory marks a new era for RCB and their loyal supporters, who have waited since the inaugural season in 2008 for this elusive trophy. The 2025 season will be remembered not just for RCB’s on-field brilliance but also for the unwavering passion of their fans.
