The ongoing Iran–Israel conflict entered its fifth day today, with the situation intensifying after a direct warning from U.S. President Donald Trump, who urged residents of Tehran to evacuate “immediately.”
Speaking from the sidelines of the G7 summit in Italy, Trump cited growing security threats and intelligence assessments as justification for his urgent statement. The U.S. has also increased its military presence in the region, repositioning naval and aerial assets to maintain a defensive posture in the Persian Gulf.
“We are monitoring the situation closely. Tehran residents should evacuate now. This is a serious warning, and we hope Iran takes it seriously,” Trump said, without clarifying if a U.S. military operation was imminent.
Meanwhile, both Israel and Iran continue to exchange heavy air and drone strikes. Iran launched a ninth wave of drones overnight, several of which were intercepted by Israeli defense systems. Civilian infrastructure on both sides has been damaged, with rising fears of casualties if the escalation continues.
The international community has called for calm. French President Emmanuel Macron mentioned that a ceasefire offer has been extended to both sides, and diplomatic efforts are underway. However, there has been no official response from Tehran or Jerusalem as of Tuesday morning.
