Trump Claims U.S. Intervention Helped Ease India-Pakistan Tensions

Former U.S. President Donald Trump has claimed that the United States played a significant role in reducing tensions between India and Pakistan. Speaking at a recent event, Trump said, “We helped both India and Pakistan a lot. I told them we won’t do business with either if the conflict doesn’t stop—and they stopped.”

Trump emphasized the influence both nations wield globally, stating that “India and Pakistan are very powerful countries. They understood the seriousness of the situation and acted to prevent further escalation.”

His remarks come amidst reports of a ceasefire agreement and de-escalation of hostilities between the two nuclear-armed neighbors. While official confirmation of U.S. mediation is yet to be acknowledged by either New Delhi or Islamabad, Trump’s statement has reignited discussion about America’s behind-the-scenes role in international peace diplomacy.

Analysts suggest that even though Trump is not in office, his comments reflect the U.S.’s continuing interest in maintaining stability in South Asia, especially between two of its major partners.
