Indian YouTuber Jyoti Malhotra, popular for her travel content under the channel Travel with JO, is at the center of a growing controversy after being seen with armed AK-47-wielding security guards during a recent visit to Pakistan. The scene was captured in a viral video posted by Scottish YouTuber Callum Mill, who encountered Malhotra in Lahore’s Anarkali Bazaar earlier this year. In the video, Malhotra is seen escorted by at least six men with assault rifles, wearing jackets marked “No Fear.” The unusual security detail raised eyebrows and triggered speculation about the nature of her visit.

The incident took a serious turn after Malhotra was arrested in Hisar, Haryana, on charges of espionage. Indian authorities allege that she was involved in passing sensitive information to Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI). She is one of twelve individuals arrested in a wider espionage crackdown spanning Punjab, Haryana, and Uttar Pradesh. Investigators revealed that some of the suspects leaked confidential data in exchange for quick cash. Malhotra’s online presence and travel movements are now being scrutinized as part of the probe.

Following her arrest, she was presented before a court in Hisar and has been sent to 14 days of judicial custody. Her devices and communication history are being analyzed by intelligence officials to determine the scope of her alleged involvement in the spy ring. The footage of her being escorted by heavily armed guards in Pakistan has only intensified suspicions surrounding her activities abroad.

The case has ignited a wave of public concern over the potential misuse of social media platforms for covert operations. Citizens and political commentators alike are questioning how such extensive security was arranged for an Indian civilian in Pakistan, and whether her presence there was more than just travel-related.
