In a highly anticipated moment for BTS fans worldwide, Kim Namjoon (RM) and Kim Taehyung (V) were officially discharged from South Korea’s military service today. The two K-pop icons completed their mandatory enlistment and marked the occasion with heartfelt messages and emotional appearances, signaling hope for a full BTS reunion in the near future.

Fans gathered outside the Chuncheon military base, where both members were seen in uniform, waving and thanking the BTS ARMY for their unwavering support during the 18-month-long service period. RM even treated fans to a short saxophone performance, while V held flower bouquets and flashed his trademark smile, turning the discharge into a mini celebration.

In emotional statements, both idols reassured fans of their return to music.

“I’ll work hard to make an album soon and come back to the stage,” said RM, BTS’s leader.
V added, “Please wait just a little longer—we’ll be back with something really special.”

The discharge of RM and V marks a pivotal step in BTS’s long-awaited comeback. Jungkook and Jimin are expected to finish their military service on June 11, followed by Suga later this month on June 21. With all seven members nearly completed with their duties, the full group reunion fans have been waiting for since their hiatus announcement in 2022 now seems within reach.

HYBE, BTS’s management company, is also preparing for the annual BTS FESTA this month, an event that celebrates the group’s debut anniversary. This year’s FESTA is rumored to include surprise content, solo performances, and possibly a teaser for their group comeback.

As the world’s biggest boy band inches closer to reuniting, excitement is building across global fandoms. RM and V’s return has not only stirred nostalgia but also renewed energy in the BTS universe—one that’s ready for another chapter.
