In a shocking and heartbreaking incident, a woman from Kamareddy district has been arrested for selling her 5-year-old son to fund the purchase of an auto-rickshaw. The mother, identified as Busa Lavanya, had been struggling financially after the death of her husband, Narsimlu, and was working at a clothing store to support her two children.

Lavanya’s life took a tragic turn when she became involved in an extramarital affair with a man named Chakali Sai from Parmalla village. When Sai’s wife learned of the affair, she left him, and Sai subsequently moved in with Lavanya in Kamareddy. The couple’s financial situation worsened, and to sustain their livelihood, they made a devastating decision.

In a desperate attempt to improve their income, Lavanya and Sai decided to sell Lavanya’s young son, Nikhil, for ₹50,000, with the money intended to purchase an auto-rickshaw for Sai’s employment. Nikhil was sold to a woman named Nasima from Parmalla village, who then handed the boy over to her sister Shahida. Shahida, in turn, sold the child to a man named Shekhar for ₹1 lakh.

However, the situation was discovered when child welfare officials received a complaint and alerted the police. Acting swiftly, the police rescued Nikhil and transferred him to a child welfare center for his safety and well-being.

Authorities have registered cases against Busa Lavanya, Chakali Sai, Nasima, Shahida, and Shekhar for their involvement in the illegal transaction. The incident has sparked widespread outrage, highlighting the vulnerability of children and the dire financial struggles that sometimes lead people to make life-altering decisions.

The police are continuing their investigation, and efforts are underway to ensure that the boy receives proper care and attention in the child welfare system. The case has prompted calls for stronger child protection laws and more support for vulnerable families in distress.
