India has announced the successful execution of Operation Sindoor, a large-scale precision strike targeting multiple terrorist camps across the Pakistan border and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). The government reports that over 100 terrorists were neutralized during the operation.
The offensive comes in direct response to the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, which resulted in the death of 26 Indian civilians. In the aftermath, India pledged a strong and calculated response. Operation Sindoor, named after the sacred red powder symbolizing courage and sacrifice, was executed by the coordinated efforts of the Indian Army, Air Force, and Navy.
During a high-level briefing to political leaders, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh stated that the operation specifically targeted camps operated by terror outfits involved in cross-border attacks. He emphasized that civilian casualties were avoided and that the Indian forces acted with precision and restraint.
National Security Advisor Ajit Doval and other senior officials remained in close consultation with the Prime Minister throughout the mission. The government also convened an all-party meeting, highlighting the seriousness of the situation and reaffirming national unity on issues of security and counter-terrorism.
The international community has been urged to take note of the growing threat of terrorism in the region. India has reiterated that its actions are rooted in self-defense and the protection of its citizens.
As of now, India is closely monitoring developments along the border and remains prepared for any potential escalation. The government maintains that this strike was necessary and proportionate, carried out in line with international norms and national interest.
